Brahma Kamal

 Brahma Kamal

A cactus like plant but doesn't have thorns. The flower stems from the leaf. Its bud goes on elongating with bulb swelling for a week. Ultimately it starts opening in the evening darkness and blooms fully around midnight. By morning it droops. It has thus a life of one night. It blooms once in a year during August September months.
