Indian Roller Bird

It is a beautiful bird. This bird has lots of patience and tolerates the photographer well. It will continue to sit at one place. It feeds on insects, lizards and small frogs etc. It is held in great esteem and auspicious to see it on the eve of Dusshera. This picture was taken in the Ghaggar river bed near Gurudwara Nadha Sahib Panchkula

My name is Ranjit Singh. I was born in 1953. I did my M.Sc. in Chemistry from Panjab University in 1975. I joined India's Premier E&P Industry called ONGC in 1978. I rose to the rank of DGM at the time of retirement in 2013 after working for 35 years. During my stint I worked in analytical chemistry labs, Oil Rigs drilling and Production.
