Bronze Winged Jacana is a water bird. It is a wader bird. It has long webby feet which helps it in distributing it's weight which helps it in floating on vegetation in the water. It subsists on lilies and other floating vegetation. It belongs to the family Jacanidae.
The bird is native to South and Southeast Asia. The pair reside in the same water body but generally are not too close to each other.
There is a land near our village which has troughs. These troughs get filled with water during monsoon season. Lots of hyacinth grows and floats in these waters.
Many waders visit these water bodies during this season.
