Pond Heron

This is a very common bird. As the name indicates it lives near water bodies for food which includes small fishes, insects, worms and other water animals. Here it is sitting on a huge leaf of lotus.

My name is Ranjit Singh. I was born in 1953. I did my M.Sc. in Chemistry from Panjab University in 1975. I joined India's Premier E&P Industry called ONGC in 1978. I rose to the rank of DGM at the time of retirement in 2013 after working for 35 years. During my stint I worked in analytical chemistry labs, Oil Rigs drilling and Production.
