Indian Roller is a beautiful bird with brilliant colored feathers. It is considered auspicious. It is the state bird of Telangana in India. It's scientific name is Coracias benghalensis
The bird has lots of patience and is rarely disturbing by the proximity of the photographer. It mostly eats insects and small animals like lizards etc.
It keeps on sitting in the branch of a tree or electric transmission wire and swoops down when it spots a prey.
